To transform lives & promote healthier communities, supporting older adults across Teesside by connecting people through Yoga, Chair Yoga and Exercise, Tai Chi, Meditation, Mindfulness, Gentle Movement and Cafe AMALA – our pop up Cafe, offering good company and information on how to be more active outside of class.

Pay It Forward

When you come to a class, course or event with AMALAwellness, not only are you working on your own wellbeing, you Pay It Forward to help others access Yoga and Meditation in the local community too!

When you attend classes, you are helping us to fund initiatives with charities and organisations to offer support to those who need it most and may not be able to access these much needed services across Teesside.

Our Community Outreach

We offer Community Funded Spaces in our classes, as well as running funded courses for local councils, charities and organisations. We work collaboratively with Social Prescribers and Link Workers, to support people who are motivated to improve their physical well-being, but may have socioeconomic barriers to attending classes.

AMALAwellness CIC are working with Parkinson’s UK to help support those living with Parkinson’s to be more active.

Cafe AMALA

Our Fully Funded Pop Up Cafe (supported by Middlesbrough Council, The Allen Lane Foundation and Tees Valley Community Fund) is a place where after class, people can come together for a good chat and free tea, coffee and refreshments. We offer a supportive ear, discuss ways people can improve their practice outside of class and signpost to services within Teesside that can help support older adults, carers and more.


We help with developing home exercise and meditation/relaxation plans and offer free resources and work-out equipment so people can be more active at home.

Our Cafe AMALA sessions are proud to be part of UK’s Warm Welcome Spaces initiative, free for anyone to attend. Pop and see us for a brew!

These yoga classes are so energizing. I enjoy the fact that the classes go through poses that are accessible for everyone with options for modifications if to make the poses easier or harder as needed. I’d highly recommend Amalawellness for any yoga practitioners, especially beginners. The classes are great for all levels of practice.
